What kid doesn’t like a sugar cookie smothered in sugary butter and decorated with more sugar? They might be a tiny bit messy (but if you take them as a preschool snack you don’t have to be a witness) and the kiddos and adults both love these.
It’s pretty self explanatory, but if you’d like the recipe for the cookie or the frosting I’ll post it.
The decorating totally does it for me. So, so cute. I especially love the little swirly ones.
Thanks Hairy! Those were the most fun to make.
put up the recipes on downwrighttasty please
You got it. Um, later.
O M G! Those look amazing.
Thanks Britt. They don’t actually taste any different than a regular sugar cookie, but they put on a good show!
Awwww…. what lucky kids.
Thanks, sometimes I make up for being a slacker in other areas. ;)
What “kid” doesn’t like sugar cookies….? Try what “woman”!
I know, huh. My will power definitely takes a nose dive when these are around.
Those look so pretty! Are those the actual ones you wasted on the three year olds? I mean shared with the three year olds? I keep trying to convince someone in our ward to do cake/pastry decorating for one of our enrichment miniclasses, I should have taken that class with you when I only had one kid, dangit, why did I think my life was so hard back then? Oh well, those look delicious.
I wasted them. I didn’t really care though, this was not my best work – by far! I didn’t even start them until midnite and I was tired. When you fly over sometime we’ll have a lesson. You’d pick it up in no time.
Those are simply perfect – a beautiful!!! Have a Happy Valentine’s Day – see you soon. Kellan
Thanks Kellan!
I made heart sugar cookies for Carter’s class but they don’t look fancy like that. You are better than Martha!! She better be worried.
Martha gets all her ideas from me. She should be worried – now everyone’s going to find out. ;)
Those look delicious!
I forgot to mention, my husband is starting to post Photoshop tutorials on his blog. You can find his off of mine.
Happy Valentines Day!!
Hey, thanks Jacki. I’m going to check it out. I need all the help I can get!
I really should have taken a picture of the sugar cookies I made for my family on Monday, because they ended up with 2 hearts, and then a bunch of blobs, because I got so frustrated that I just sort of scraped the dough up with my fingers and threw it down on the cookie sheet. Breads I have patience for, cookies…apparently not. Especially if I have to chill the dough, because when I want cookies I want them NOW!
with that said, I’m hoping you decide to post the recipe! perhaps then I can ascend to your cookie-making heights.
Oh man, I got a giggle out of your comment! I’ll post the recipe soon – but you have to refrigerate your dough! And use lots of flour to roll on.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm {drooling}
Your cookies look waaaaay better than mine! I iced mine but let my daughter add red hots and sprinkles on top. Is it worth it?, well, I suppose so. Maybe next year I won’t wait til the night before to get my act together! ;)
That’s a good idea, I think I’ll follow your lead!
I dont want the recipe, I want the box of cookies-delivered. YUM!
I would love to see the recipe…. the cookies and the icing. I am very kitchen challenged, but I want to do this with my kids. They look great!
oh dear, i wish i saw these earlier. they look heavenly. it’s kind of funny because i posted something about sugary treats and valentines. you may want to check out my post. i am all for living it up on the holidays!!!
thanks for sharing. i would love to hear how you made them so i can file it away for next year.
hope you don’t mind me dropping by! have a great weekend!
Dagnab…this reminds me that I forgot to make my yearly valentine cookies. What was I THINKING?
Just checkin’ out more of your blog and had to say how cute those cookies are. Not to mention how yummy they look!!
